Current Prayer Needs:

Thank you for taking the time to read through and pray through these items. May we continue caring for one another, celebrating God’s work, and intentionally bring every need before Him, trusting that He is always faithful.

Clair Marie Brooks and Joseph Samartino - (shared with us by Shirley Bledsoe updated 9/23) Both father an daughter have been diagnosed with cancer within just a few months. Clair has a form of pediatric brain cancer and her dad Joseph, colon cancer. This family is from the New Washington area of our community.

The family of Dorothy Elmore - (sister of Donald Elmore) passed away Monday Morning 9/21.

Evelyn and Kim Carmany - airway scope went well with no major structural issues. However the procedure itself set Evelyn back wit her lungs, but she is on the mend. Prayers for Kim’s endurance to continue wherever God may lead in this next season. Asking for the sale of their home in Charlestown to a family that will be blessed by it.

Life change that leads to love, joy peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. That God’s Spirit will be more in me.

Pain experienced by a wife to be relieved, for their son and daughter to come to Christ, that God continues to watch over their grandson.

Corey and Breana Bloomer - Asking for God’s guidance as they navigate infertility.

Bledsoe family - Salvation, healing for cancer for rick, for our pastors and leadership.

Denise Loesch mother - continued prayers as she recovers from heart bypass and gains back her independence.

Aubrey Priddy - Heather and Colton continue to wait for answers to blood work and tests. Riley Hospital notified them that there is a meeting on Wednesday this week to discuss her case. Following that meeting, they are hoping for answers and the plan going forward. This time of waiting on answers and a plan has been long and worrisome. We continue to asks for God’s revelation and peace.

Brittany and Brian & daughter Ellie (daughter, son-in-law, grandchild of Cathy Jolly) Brian’s mother passed away in her sleep., Funeral services were yesterday (Sunday)

Earl Mullins (Updated 9/23)– On Tuesday 9/22 Earl came through his surgery well. This will hopefully provide some much needed relief and the ability for Earl to begin eating again to regain strength. He continues at the Hospital in discomfort but under pain management as he recovers from surgery.

Marty Emily - Marty attended MCC for several years and served on our greeting team ministry. His father passed away las weekend and the service was last Thursday in Corydon. Thank you for your prayers for Marty and his family.

Ted Fleenor – Is experiencing persistent dizziness, balance problems, and pain in the back of his head and neck. We give thanks that his CT scan and two MRIs showed no evidence of a stroke or blood clots. The cause of his symptoms remains unclear, but his neurologist adjusted his medications and ordered physical therapy.

Billy Schwartz – Is recovering well at home following surgery last week for a pacemaker.

Kathy Jackson and Family - as they travel the next couple of weeks for vacation and time together.

Dakota Martin – one of our Young Adults at MCC is searching for employment. Please pray that God provides the right opportunity.

Dana Cook – asks that we continue praying that she receives clear answers from her medical community for her current health needs / next steps.

Mike Reiter - healing. appointment with surgeon.

Gary Lakins - recovering at home from hip replacement surgery. He is doing exceptionally well and was back in worship this weekend.

Tracy Hutton – Had an encouraging meeting with her oncologist and surgeon today. Additional pathology has been ordered to determine if further treatment is necessary. Results due back in 2 weeks. The current plan will be watch her closely unless the pathology reveals something that requires treatment.

Expectant Mothers - We have many expectant couples this fall. We join them in celebrating God’s gift and continue to ask his protection of the babies growth and mom’s health.

Our Military – Please pray for the men and women serving in our nation’s military. Ask God to protect them, give them wisdom and courage and strengthen their families during times of separation.

George and Alexis Bloom on the arrival of Jasper Allan Bloom on 9/22/26 at 10:20 am 7lb 10oz. This is their first child and grandchild to Matt and Christine Bloom.

Dakota Martin - begins a new job this week. God provides

Love’s Endeavor, Inc. was able to help the Charlestown PD obtain a 3rd K-9 “Bo”.

Dallas Enlow (grandson of Shirley Bledsoe) - was cleared with no heart issues.

Kim Carmany - Thankful for gentle friendships and those that have shown up and checked in - keeping Evelyn and I connected in the good times and hard times.

  • Intentional Parenting Class (Saturday Nights) – This past Saturday we kicked off the Intentional Parenting Class lead by our Children's Minister Amy Achelpohl! Together, they considered how to resist “quick-fix parenting” and instead parent intentionally, faithfully, and in community with their church. Ultimately parents walked away recognizing that if they do not step up to be their children’s role models, someone or something else will. Let’s be in prayer as we thank God for what He is doing in the lives of our families and the equipping they are receiving from this opportunity. There is still space for other parents to come and be part this upcoming Saturday.


  • Fall Festival | Oct 31– This weekend we will launch Team Member sign-ups for our Fall Festival on October 31! Please pray as we prepare to welcome our community to campus and provide a fun, safe environment for families. Ask God to use this opportunity to build relationships, make Christ known, and help our neighbors see the open door He has provided through the church family at MCC. As we prepare, please consider how you can participate this year by committing to serve and give toward this all-church opportunity.

Prayer Needs (Week of Sept 18, 2026)
Current Prayer Needs: Thank you for taking the time to read through and pray through these items. May we continue caring for one another, celebrating God’s work, and intentionally bring every need before Him, trusting that He is always faithful. Brittany and Brian & daughter Ellie (daughter, son-in-law, grandchild of Cathy Jolly) Brian’s mother passed away in her sleep., Funeral services are tomorrow (Sunday) Earl Mullins – remains at Norton Pavilion in Louisville and is experiencing significant discomfort and several medical complications, including concerns involving blood clotting and infection that is being treated with antibiotic. As of 9/18 he is responding to antibiotic and may be ready for surgery on Tuesday that is necessary to bypass the tumor with the bile duct. This afternoon has been restful for Earl and Phyllis. Marty Emily - Marty attended MCC for several years and served on our greeting team ministry. His father passed away this weekend and the service was Thursday in Corydon. Thank you for your prayers for Marty and his family. Ted Fleenor – was admitted overnight to Clark Memorial this past weekend after experiencing persistent dizziness, balance problems, and pain in the back of his head and neck. We give thanks that his CT scan and two MRIs showed no evidence of a stroke or blood clots and that he is now home. The cause of his symptoms remains unclear, but his neurologist adjusted his medications and ordered physical therapy. Billy Schwartz – received a pacemaker Tuesday afternoon. He experienced another episode that evening and went down, even though the pacemaker reportedly worked as intended. The hospital kept him for continued monitoring and evaluation. Marcus Withers’ Mother – Marcus’s mother lost her home in a fire two weeks ago. Marcus has been in Mississippi helping her find a new place to live and is pleased with their progress.. Dakota Martin – one of our Young Adults at MCC is searching for employment. Please pray that God provides the right opportunity. Dana Cook – asks that we continue praying that she receives clear answers from her medical community for her current health needs / next steps. Gary Lakins - recovering at home from hip replacement surgery. He is doing exceptionally well and is grateful for the prayers and outreach. Titus Richards (age 3) – Austin and Brooklynn Richards shared that their son Titus broke his leg Friday evening. He has a buckle fracture and is currently wearing a boot. Once the swelling decreases, he may need a hard cast and will be evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon. Chelsea Stowell – came through her five-hour heart procedure well. Her Husband (Blake) believes the medical team accomplished everything as planned. Please continue praying for stable heart rhythm, and an uncomplicated recovery. She is now home and feeling very well. Madison – Damon and Lindsey Smith have requested prayer for their niece Madison, who is in the ICU with sepsis. Her family is also grieving the sudden death of Madison’s brother, whom they laid to rest Friday. Please pray for Madison’s stabilization and healing, wisdom for her medical team, and God’s comfort and strength for a family facing critical illness while carrying such fresh grief. Tracy Hutton – pathology results showed metastatic melanoma in the lymph node that was tested. Her medical team has indicated that the next steps will likely include immunotherapy and consultation with a medical oncologist. Tracy is scheduled to meet with her surgeon September 21, and the office is working to arrange an oncology appointment that same day. Please pray for Tracy and her family as they process this news, for wisdom as her treatment plan is developed. Aubrey Priddy (age 2) – Testing has ruled out histoplasmosis, also known as Ohio Valley fungus. Her infectious-disease appointment has been canceled, and Heather and Colton are now waiting for hematology/oncology to arrange additional imaging in the coming week. Lisa Guthrie – Following her recent stroke, Brookelynn Richards’s mother, Lisa, is scheduled for a procedure October 26 to close the hole found in her heart. The timing will allow her medical team to complete additional testing beforehand. Please pray that Lisa remains stable and that the procedure and recovery go smoothly. Loved Ones Needs & Life Transitions – Several of our families are navigating financial pressures, difficult circumstances with family, concerns for those they love, and significant life transitions. Praises & Celebrations: Relationship Milestones / Anniversaries – We celebrate those marking significant relationship milestones and anniversaries this month. Successful Surgeries and Recoveries – We are grateful for the many surgeries our MCC family has faithfully lifted in prayer this week that have gone well. Cheryl Mitchum – came through shoulder surgery well and is recovering. Patricia Kirchgessner – Is giving thanks for all those that prayed for her back surgery. Prayer Needs (Week of Sept 11, 2026)
Current Prayer Needs: Thank you for taking the time to read through and pray through these items. May we continue caring for one another, celebrating God’s work, and intentionally bring every need before Him, trusting that He is always faithful. Jasper Donahue (age 5) – was admitted to Norton Children’s Hospital Downtown yesterday with serious respiratory issues. Jasper has asthma and has required multiple rescue medications. Today he is responding to the antibiotics and steroids. His doctor reports that the inflammation is improving and the left side of his airway is opening. He continues to have some wheezing and is receiving inhaler treatments every four hours. If his progress continues, he may be able to return home later today and continue treatment there. Ted Fleenor – was admitted overnight to Clark Memorial this past weekend after experiencing persistent dizziness, balance problems, and pain in the back of his head and neck. We give thanks that his CT scan and two MRIs showed no evidence of a stroke or blood clots and that he is now home. The cause of his symptoms remains unclear, but his neurologist adjusted his medications and ordered physical therapy. Billy Schwartz – was readmitted to Baptist Health Floyd after experiencing the same heart-related issues. Although his test results had reportedly been normal, his medical team was still working to determine the cause. Carolyn asked the church to pray specifically for answers, Earl Mullins – Earl was hospitalized again Friday evening after vomiting bile. Phyllis indicated that his medical team was considering transferring him to University of Louisville Hospital. We are grateful to share that Earl’s bowels began moving throughout Wednesday, bringing much-needed relief and answering a specific prayer many have been lifting before the Lord. Titus Richards (age 3) – Austin and Brooklynn Richards shared that their son Titus broke his leg Friday evening. He has a buckle fracture and is currently wearing a boot. Once the swelling decreases, he may need a hard cast and will be evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon. Chelsea Stowell – will undergo her third heart procedure Wednesday in Cleveland. Two previous procedures have attempted to correct an arrhythmia. Blake and Chelsea will travel Monday. Jody Norton – Jody, the father of Josephine “Josie” Norton (age 9), passed away Friday. No service is currently planned. Amy Norton is thoughtfully helping her daughter process this loss, especially as Josie’s birthday approaches Monday. Madison – Damon and Lindsey Smith have requested prayer for their niece Madison, who is in the ICU with sepsis. Her family is also grieving the sudden death of Madison’s brother, whom they laid to rest Friday. He became sick several weeks ago and is still not feeling well. Shirley is especially concerned because it is unusual for him to acknowledge when he is feeling poorly. LaRocco Family – Matt and Brandi’s home in Perry Crossing, Sellersburg, caught fire. We are grateful that everyone escaped safely, although one of their children was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The LaRoccos live near several families from MCC, and Matt served on staff at MCC several years ago. Aubrey Priddy (age 2) – Testing has ruled out histoplasmosis, also known as Ohio Valley fungus. She has been given an estimated four to six months and has chosen not to pursue treatment. At Kristen’s request, please ask God to surround her and her family with His unmistakable presence, comfort, and peace throughout the days ahead. Dorothy Coates – Tonia Elmore has requested prayer for Donald’s sister, Dorothy. She was diagnosed with leukemia Wednesday and is expected to return home under hospice care. Praises & Celebrations: Successful Surgeries and Recoveries – We are grateful for the many surgeries our MCC family has faithfully lifted in prayer this week that have gone well. Sharon Fowler – received an encouraging report at her follow-up appointment. Her X-rays show that her spine is healing as expected, and she will not need another appointment for six months. She can begin returning to some normal routines while continuing to follow permanent restrictions on lifting, twisting, and bending. Sharon is now free from the pain she had experienced since 2010! She is incredibly thankful, and we join her in praising God for this relief. Ministry Updates & Reminders: Together we are asking God to work through every gathering, leader, and activity. May He transform lives, deepen relationships, and allow each opportunity to make Christ known. Level Up Overnighter | Friday & Saturday | Grades 5–8 – We give thanks to God for an incredible Level Up! The Commons Room was filled throughout the night with students and leaders connecting and deepening their relationships with God and one another. We look forward to seeing the fruit God produces through moments like these. Jayke Youell (Youth Pastor) and his team of leaders did an incredible job giving of themselves and faithfully stewarding the students and opportunities God has entrusted to us at MCC. Please continue praying that what God began during Level Up will take deep root in the lives of our students....and pray that our leaders enjoy a well-deserved nap this afternoon! Connect Groups: Our groups have been back together this week in homes and on campus. Please pray for biblical application, authentic community, and meaningful encouragement within every group. Here are a few reports from Group Leaders: We had a wonderful study this evening. I believe everyone contributed to the discussion on how God will use our weaknesses to strengthen our faith, other's faith, and move us out of our comfort zone.
