As your family calendar changes, we encourage you to make MDWK part of your calendar. We gather every other Wednesday at 5:15 for dinner, service begins at 6:00. Early Childhood Weekend Lesson & Bottom Line

Last week we discovered how God was with Daniel in the lions den. This week we head to Genesis 21:14-20 with our bottom line “God always hears me.”

When Hagar and her son, Ishmael, run out of water in the middle of a hot desert, it is a desperate situation. But an angel calls out to Hagar, telling her that God has heard her son crying. God shows Hagar a well where she can get water for her son. God saw Hagar, and He heard Ishmael. God hears your preschooler too, because God is always with them!

Parent partner tip- this week as you drive along talk about the places you pass and the people you see, remind your child that God is with them everywhere they go and that God hears their prayers.
Elementary & Loft Teaching & Bottom Line

Last weekend we kicked off our teaching series Frequency- learning to hear from God. We discovered what it looks like to hear from God, this weekend we dive in to learning God’s voice through reading the Bible. We head to Matthew 6:11 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Our teaching this weekend explores how the best way to listen for God’s voice is to read His Word. We discover how Scripture is God-breathed and valuable for every part of a qour life. We will take a tour through the different parts of the Bible, and how to find scripture. Our bottom line this week “I can learn to know God through the Bible.”

Parent partner tip- Younger elementary children may struggle wondering how to read the Bible when they are just learning to read. Ask your child what is something they want to learn from the Bible, and take time at bedtime to read with them.

September 19th/20th Weekend
Intentional Parenting Tonight we kick off our first of five sessions as we come together to create an intentional parenting plan. All children that are staying for childcare will need a dot sticker added to their check in tag please check in at the desk if you need a sticker. Following service we will meet in the Commons for a time of introduction, video, and discussion. Workbooks will be provided. Thank you for taking this step in being intentional with your parenting! Early Childhood Weekend Teaching This weekend your preschooler heads to Genesis 37, 39-47 as we hear the story of Joseph. Jospeh’s older brothers don’t like Joesph’s special coat or his dreams. So they send Jospeh away to Egypt. There Joesph does well and is put in charge of the pharaoh’s whole house. But it falls apart when someone lies about Joesph and he is put in jail. Later, Pharaoh has weird dreams and Joseph warns the pharaoh the dreams mean that a famine is coming. Pharaoh can see that God is with Joseph and put’s him in charge again. Through all the ups and downs, God was with Joseph wherever he went and helped him in everything he did. Our Bottom Line this week “God is with me wherever I go” Kindergarten through 3rd Grade Weekend Teaching On Week 3 we head to John 15:1-11 And hear the story of the vine and the branches. This week we teach that in order to hear God’s voice and grow strong, we need to stay close to Jesus in everything that we do. As we see in the story of Adam and Eve, we were created for friendship with God, and God wants to stay close to us, even when we’ve done wrong things. MDWK Tonight
MDWK Tonight We welcome you and your family to join us for dinner of roasted pork, mashed potatoes, and veggies this evening starting at 5:15. This is a time where we can pause, and spend a dinner together as a family. We invite you to pray together, spend time in conversation, and then join us for full programming beginning at 6:00. Following Dinner The lower level will open at 5:50 for parents to bring their children to the classroom. Children ages 6 months through 2 years will meet in LL101 Children 3 years through pre-k in LL106 Children Kindergarten through 6th Grade on the lower level in LL110 Our time together at MDWK is a special time in Clubhouse. We take time to open God’s Word, practice finding scripture, praying over our small groups, and connecting through activities. We encourage each child to bring their Bible to class. Parents, ask your kids about it on the drive home! Ask your child “What is something that you have learned about God while reading the Bible?” Or say to your preschooler, “God loves to hear your prayers, He is with you everywhere you go.” For more ways on how to connect with your child, and keep the conversation going at home check out this link. Intentional Parenting
What you do every day matters as a parent or caregiver matters! Your actions over time are the single greatest influence in the life of your child no matter what age they are. Join us as we discover what it means to be an intentional parent. Very few parents or caregivers enter into the responsibility of parenting with a high degree of confidence or feeling fully prepared. Most of us start with good intentions and excitement, but since children don’t arrive wrapped in a how-to manual, most of us wind up relying on something referred to as quick-fix parenting. At it’s foundation, quick-fix parenting is only about stopping the behavior. Most of us embrace “quick-fix parenting” because, that is what was modeled for us, it is easier and more convenient, and it can be effective in stopping and correcting a behavior to deter conflict in the moment. But you don’t have to stay in the quick fix parenting mode. We want you to join us as we help you create a better way to navigate through the parenting landmines we all face with an intentional approach to parenting. We will meet for five sessions beginning September 19th at 7:00 pm in the Commons. Your workbook, dinner, and childcare will be provided. Welcome to Fall Clubhouse Kids!
New Season-New Family Rhythm ⏰ 📆 As many head back to school this season and your family calendar changes, we encourage you to make MDWK part of your calendar. We gather every other Wednesday at 5:15 for dinner, service begins at 6:00. Come join us in Clubhouse as we spend time in small groups, learning to find scripture in God’s Word, and applying it to our daily lives! Join us September 2nd! Clubhouse Teaching Series & Early Childhood Theme Our Early Childhood curriculum this month is teaching us how God is always with us. Our theme this month is “Everywhere I go God is always with me”. The grocery store, doctor’s office, school, or church preschoolers go to a lot of places! While some can be exciting some can be scary or make them feel anxious. This month our Bottom Line is -God is always with me, everywhere you go remind your preschooler this month that God is always with them. Our memory verse this month: “God is with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9 ESV For your child in Elementary our teaching series is “Frequency- learning to hear from God.” We welcome in September with back to school, schedules that fill up, and practices that require skill to plan dinner around. This is the time that it is vital to learn to pause, take a deep breath, and turn our hearts to hear from God. But where do we start? How do we know if it’s God or our own thoughts? God loves when we ask those questions! We are focusing on what it means and how to hear from God all month long through His Word, prayer, and worship. Our Memory Verse: “My sheep listen to my voice.
